Best NHL Player Props and Parlay Picks Today Dec. 9
After last night's thrilling Monday Night Football contest, we're back to covering some high-flying NHL action. With 10 games to choose from tonight, there's a plethora of unbelievable value at all of our favorite sports betting apps, especially if you take advantage of the latest sportsbook promotions.
Today, we're covering some of the best NHL bets today, including top NHL player props, anytime goal scorer picks, and a juicy parlay we think has a fantastic chance to hit tonight.
NHL Anytime Goal Scorer Picks
Connor McDavid Anytime Goal Scorer (+125)
🏒 Odds via DraftKings 🥅
Well, after a couple of weeks of fooling us, it appears the Buffalo Sabres are, in fact, bad again. They've lost three straight by a miserable 16-7 margin, playing horribly in a 7-4 loss against the Calgary Flames last night.
The Sabres are a miserable 2-9-2 on the road this season, by far the worst record in hockey. The Oilers, meanwhile, are 7-3-2 and have scored an insane 15 goals over their last two games.
McDavid has three goals and three assists in their last two games, and we expect his hot run to keep going.
Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal Scorer (+100)
🏒 Odds via DraftKings 🥅
For all the reasons we just mentioned, we would have to think that Draisaitl gets on the board as well. The Oilers have finally turned things around offensively, scoring 28 goals in their last six games.
Draisaitl has been a huge part of that turnaround, contributing 17 goals and 20 assists this season, and has scored in three of Edmonton's last four games.
Sidney Crosby Anytime Goal Scorer (+145)
🏒 Odds via FanDuel 🥅
It's actually crazy that I'm sitting here in 2025 and Sidney Crosby is still leading the Penguins in scoring.
We anticipate a very high-scoring game in Pittsburgh tonight against the Ducks, who tend to take part in nothing but high-scoring affairs as of late. In fact, seven of their last eight games have seen at least seven goals scored, with five goals or more scored in each of their last 11 contests.
Honestly, take your pick from anyone in this game, with Crosby having the lowest odds at +145. In a contest like this, we love the odds of several goal scorers, especially Crosby and Leo Carlsson (+200).
NHL Player Props
Nathan MacKinnon Under 4.5 Shots on Goal (-152)
🏒 Odds via FanDuel 🥅
Despite being one of the worst teams in hockey, the Nashville Predators do a phenomenal job of limiting shots on goal. 28 games into the season, they're only allowing about 21 shots on goal per game, one of the best rates in the league.
Sure, Nathan MacKinnon is an otherworldly animal, and is on an eight-game run with at least four shots on goal and a four-game streak with six shots on goal or more.
Don't be fooled by the on-paper matchup. The only other time these two teams played, MacKinnon was limited to just one shot on goal (which hit the back of the net) in a 3-0 victory. That was his only game of the season with one shot on frame or less.
Bet $5 Get $300 in Bonus Bets If Your Bet Wins! Leon Draisaitl 2+ Points (+126)
🏒 Odds via Caesars Sportsbook 🥅
Draisaitl has found red-hot form, putting up 18 points over his last 11 games, and has contributed multiple points in three of his last four contests.
Against a Buffalo Sabres team with the worst road record in hockey on the second half of a back-to-back, we can't fathom Draisaitl having an off game.
Leo Carlsson 1+ Points (-225)
🏒 Odds via Caesars Sportsbook 🥅
Carlsson is having a career year in his third season in the NHL, already inching close to his career-high point total just 29 games into the season.
With 38 points already on the year, heading into a seemingly high-scoring clash with Pittsburgh, we think this is just about free money. If you're feeling brave, he's getting +215 on 2+ Points and +800 on 3+ Points.
Today’s Best NHL Parlay (+1051)
🏒 Odds via FanDuel 🥅
- Leg 1: Colorado Avalanche -1.5
- Leg 2: Colorado Avalanche - Nashville Predators Under 6.5 Goals
- Leg 3: Edmonton Oilers -1.5
- Leg 4: Connor McDavid Anytime Goal Scorer
The Avalanche have been blowing past teams all year and get to face one of the worst teams in hockey in the Nashville Predators. While the Preds have allowed 100 goals this season, they allow an unusually low number of shots on goal. We think that Colorado should roll, though it won't be as big a blowout as it would seem on paper. This smells like a 4-1 win.
