The Broncos’ passing game might be without Jerry Jeudy for the second straight game. Last season, Wilson averaged nearly 50 more yards per game when Jeudy was on the field. Simply put, Denver needs Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims to increase their production downfield.

The Commanders have a young defensive backfield that relies on two rookie cornerbacks and a second-year safety. Washington’s offense seemingly tried to hand last week’s game to Arizona, but its defense held at all the right times. We’ll see if Denver can find a few more holes in the Commanders’ inexperienced secondary than the Cardinals did.

Reasons To Bet The Over/Under

It would be tough to justify betting the over in this game, even at the low total of . Neither team’s offense took advantage of their matchups with weaker defenses. Wilson, a veteran QB in the league, has as many questions surrounding his capabilities as Sam Howell in his second season. Even if Jeudy suits up, how much will his hamstring limit him?

I lean under, just not enough to pull the trigger.

Final Thoughts

Both of these teams underachieved in Week 1 and seem to mirror each other in many ways. They both have talented wide receivers and running backs, but a ton of questions at QB. Their defenses are middling and failed to generate much pressure in their opening games of the season.

Washington narrowly defeated the Cardinals, the team with the lowest odds to record the worst record in the league. Denver missed an extra point and lost by one to the team with the sixth-lowest odds to earn next year’s 1st overall draft pick.
