Justin Fields Player Prop: Under 177.5 Passing Yards (-115)

The market is high on Bears QB Justin Fields right now. Rightfully so as the breakout star of the middle of the season can’t seem to buy a win thanks to his defense. But, he’s absolutely shredding everyone in front of him. Particularly on the ground, where he’s breaking records and may challenge Lamar Jackson’s season-long QB rushing mark of 1,206.

I think some of that heat has bled over into his passing prop for Week 11, but I’m not sure that should be the case. In fact, 177.5 passing yards looks rather high considering Fields averages just 148.9 on the season. Even since his breakout against the Patriots he’s still only at 155 yards.

I think the Falcons are relatively well-suited to limiting what Fields does best as they love to drop back in zone and rarely blitz. That should put the onus on Fields to make his progressions as a passer, something he’s struggled with, particularly behind a leaky offensive line.

Furthermore, Fields’ top two targets, Cole Kmet and Darnell Mooney, have questions hanging over them. Kmet’s banged up with an injury and missed Wednesday’s practice (he shouldn’t be in danger of missing the game though). Mooney must face off against ace CB AJ Terrell, who should return from injury.

I was a founding father on Justin Fields island when everyone thought he was awful. While I’m as excited as anyone about his development, I think his numbers could take a step back this week. Even in a dome against a bad defense, I’m taking the under here.
