Will Cowboys RB Tony Pollard score a touchdown ()?

Despite some glaring offensive issues, Dolphins vs. Cowboys is the highest total game of the slate. The Cowboys only scored 10 points last week against Buffalo, and Miami has yet to score 21 against Buffalo, Kansas City, or Philadelphia. Yet, with that projected total, clearly, Vegas is expecting a shootout. If they’re right, Tony Pollard’s the right player from this game to target.

Miami’s defense is fourth by EPA against the pass but 17th against the rush, meaning that Pollard should be in a position to take advantage. The Cowboys will want to take some pressure off Dak Prescott by establishing the run, which opens up the chance Pollard can break one from long range. More importantly, Pollard had a three-game streak of scoring TDs before the Philly game two weeks ago. Pollard will be essential if Dallas gets their offense going the right way this week. And therefore, he’s an intelligent option among Week 16 anytime touchdown bets.

Will Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker score a touchdown? ()

Questions about Walker’s returning workload were put to bed on Monday night. 19 carries, 86 yards, and a 22-yard touchdown run that reminded everyone why he’s the starter. We didn’t get any goal-line work in this game – both Seattle TDs came from outside the red zone – but the usage on Walker suggests there’s little risk of a significantly shared backfield now that he’s back.

Tennessee has been one of the worst defenses in the league this season. With Geno Smith returning this week, Seattle should be able to move the ball at will on the 27th-ranked EPA defense of the Titans. Pete Carroll’s love of the running game and the Seahawks’ likely offensive success add up to a pretty high likelihood Walker gets in.

Will Lions TE Sam Laporta score a touchdown ()?

Minnesota has been mediocre against Tight Ends in recent weeks, allowing Tanner Hudson, Cole Kmet, Jonnu Smith, and Kyle Pitts to combine for 21 catches across three games. The Vikings also allowed George Kittle to go for 5 for 78 against them earlier this season, the last time they played a tough tight-end matchup. And now, they’re stuck facing Sam Laporta, who has been destroying worlds in recent weeks. Off a 3 Touchdown game last week, Laporta is further cementing his role in the Lions offense.

This week, Laporta will take on an even bigger role. Minnesota’s defense has been good against the team’s best WRs in recent weeks – the last time a number 1 WR broke 100 yards was DJ Moore for the Bears. Davante Adams only went for 53 against them, and none of the Bengals receivers managed to hit 65 yards. The Vikings scheme forces the ball to be spread around, which means Laporta will be the beneficiary of less attention for St. Brown. And with his increasing role in the offense, Laporta has a great chance of getting his fourth TD in the last two games.

Will the Buccaneers’ defense/special teams score a TD?

To be clear – this is entirely conditional on CJ Beathard starting. Trevor Lawrence has been placed into concussion protocol, and very few players this season have entered and exited the protocols without missing a game. In 10 games as a starting quarterback in San Fran in 2017 and 2018, he threw 12 interceptions. In 2018, he threw two INTs in three of his five starts. He is legitimately a mistake-prone QB.

The Tampa defense is sixth in the league against the run, so the usual way you’d hide a poor QB is by running a lot, but that doesn’t seem too possible. Make Beathard have to throw, especially if Tampa can get up on them early, and this could finally be the week where we call the correct D/ST touchdown.
