We’ve got a four-game slate on the NBA hardwood for Saturday as the postseason kicks off in earnest. After these four series open up Saturday, the other four get underway Sunday. That includes the four teams that won the seventh and eighth seed in each conference via the play-in tournament.

Let’s take a spin around the league and see what’s on tap while identifying the best NBA bets today.

In the four games on the docket Saturday, only one involves a divisional tilt. That’s the Timberwolves and Nuggets in a Northwest Division clash in the Mile-High City. In the respective season series between the teams, Toronto swept all three meetings from the Cavaliers. Denver took three of four from Minnnesota while the Knicks took three of five from Atlanta. Los Angeles won two of three matchups with the Rockets in the regular season.

Jalen Johnson, Hawks Under 29.5 Points + Assists (-118, DraftKings): Johnson is the Hawks’ leading scorer this season. He also led the team in rebounds and assists on the year. Johnson saw his numbers taper off down the stretch. He has fallen short of this benchmark in seven of his last 10 games. That includes each of his last six contests. That includes a 21 point, five assist showing April 6 in the most recent meeting with the Knicks. Look for Johnson to push near the mark but he inevitably ends up falling short in the opener.

Nikola Jokic, Nuggets To Post a Triple-Double (+120, DraftKings): Jokic led the league in triple-doubles this season with 34. That lapped the field as Chicago’s Josh Giddey and Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson were second with 13. Jokic put up massive numbers against Minnesota this season in the team’s four meetings. He put up 35.8 points, 15 rebounds and 11.3 assists while averaging 38.3 minutes a night. Jokic shot 63.2% from the floor, 50% from three-point range and 93.2% at the line in those contests. text Kevin Durant, Rockets Over 23.5 Points (-120, BetMGM): Durant had a solid season with the Rockets this season and now gets a crack at the Lakers. Durant has gone over this number in eight of his last 10 games entering this contest. Los Angeles is without Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) for at least Game 1. That limits who might be able to guard Durant and could put pressure on LeBron James to expend energy on the defensive end of the floor. Durant had a good night and the Rockets steal home court with a win here.

Best NBA Bets Today – Sides

Our Prediction: Knicks -5.5 (BetMGM, -105): Atlanta dropped the final three games of the season series with the Knicks. The Hawks dropped three of their last four to close the regular season. They also are without backup center Jock Landale, which thins their frontcourt depth. Meanwhile, the Knicks are healthy and at home for this contest. New York should take care of business at home for a 1-0 series lead.

Rockets -5 (-108, FanDuel): Houston may be the road team in this 4/5 matchup, which puts them on the road in Game 1. The Rockets are favored here because they are in a much better level of health compared to the Lakers. Los Angeles is minus both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves here, taking away two of their top scoring options. Houston won’t have Steven Adams and Durant is questionable with a knee contusion. The Rockets are in better shape and they should be able to take advantage of a Lakers squad depleted of two primary scoring options. Give the points in this one.
