Best NBA Bets Today – Sides
Grizzlies vs. Jazz Over 249 (DraftKings, -115) : This is a matchup of two teams that are playing for ping pong balls and little else at this stage. Both teams have been allergic to playing defense while managing to pile up hefty point totals themselves. Utah is dead last in the league by allowing 126.3 ppg while Memphis is 25th by giving up 120.2 points per contes. Both teams love to run as the Jazz are third in the league in tempo (102.1 possessions per game) on the year. Memphis isn’t far behind, ranking seventh with 101.1 possessions per contest. This is one of those track meet games that teams with nothing to play for get into late in the year. It might take 140 to win it. Take the over as there’s a lot of running and gunning.
Pelicans vs. Celtics Under 224.5 (FanDuel, -116): Boston fell to the Knicks 112-106 last night and hold a magic number of one to clinch both the Atlantic Division title and the #2 seed in the East. New Orleans is minus Dejounte Murray, Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy III for this contest. The Pelicans also could be without Saddiq Bey for this contest, leaving all their key veteran options out of the mix for this one. Boston leads the league in scoring defense and has played at the highest under rate (51-29) in the league this season. With the Pels missing their vets coupled with Boston’s D, this game winds up under the number.
Pacers +15.5 (-115, BetMGM): Yes, the Pacers have been awful this season. The fact remains that the 76ers are playing the second game of a back-to-back set here. In addition, they won’t have Joel Embiid, who underwent surgery for appendicitis Thursday and doesn’t have a timetable for return. Philadelphia has fared well in the second game of back-to-back situations this season but they shouldn’t be giving this many points against anyone at this stage. Neither team defends all that well so this one ends up being closer than expected. Back Indiana and the points in this contest.
Best NBA Player Props
Mikal Bridges, Knicks Over 12.5 Points (-110, Fanatics): Bridges has cleared this number in six of his last nine games. In two others, he finished with 12 and 10 points. He scored only 10 in 30:52 of action against Boston last night but hit all four of his shots from the floor in the contest. Facing a Toronto team that also played last night, Bridges should have some good opportunities to score here. He has put up lines of 11, 14, 15 and 30 points in four games against Toronto this year. He should be good for 15 or so here.
Paolo Banchero, Magic Over 8.5 Rebounds (+112, FanDuel): Banchero has been effective on the glass this season, especially since the All-Star break. Meanwhile, Chicago is playing the second game of a back-to-back set and has a lengthy injury report. In addition, their depleted frontcourt could be further thinned after Guerschon Yabusele suffered a sprained shoulder against the Wizards Thursday. That should free up Banchero to do some glass cleaning. He has pulled down at least eight boards In five of his last eight games. If you want to play it safe, you can grab over 7.5 boards at -145 at DraftKings or Fanatics.
