Best NBA Player Props 04/06: Will George Pile Up Points vs. San Antonio?
We’ve got a five-game slate on the NBA hardwood for Monday night out of respect for the national title game in college hoops. We’re in the final week of the regular season. Playoff positioning is still in the cards, though we know the teams that will be in the field in both conferences. In the Western Conference, it seems that the line between guaranteed playoff spots and the play-in teams is clear. Meanwhile, teams six through 10 in the Eastern Conference are separated by 2.5 games in the standings. That makes every game count even more as only the top six seeds earn guaranteed playoff spots.
Let’s take a spin around the league and see what’s on tap while identifying the best NBA bets today.
NBA Schedule
Knicks @ Hawks
Pistons @ Magic
Cavaliers @ Grizzlies
76ers @ Spurs
Trail Blazers @ Nuggets
Out of the five games on the docket, four feature a pair of teams that will be in the postseason. That includes an interconference tilt between the 76ers and Spurs. There’s a Western Conference clash between the Trail Blazers and Nuggets at the Ball Arena. Meanwhile, the Knicks and Hawks meet in Hotlanta while the Pistons and Magic square off in the Sunshine State. With that in mind, we’ve identified our top NBA predictions for the schedule and they’re available below. All odds were courtesy of FanDuel and were current as of 6 pm ET April 5.
Best NBA Bets Today – Sides
Spurs -8 (-114, FanDuel): San Antonio is 27-3 in their last 30 games, even with their overtime loss to Denver Saturday. The Spurs are very good at home, posting a 29-7 on the year as the hosts. Philadelphia plays for the third time in four nights here. That always takes a toll on teams, especially one like the 76ers that relies on guys that are known to be injury prone. Philadelphia doesn’t have the rotational depth to keep up with San Antonio. The 76ers lost by 40 to the Spurs last month at home. This one is closer than that but the Spurs take care of business here to get back on track.
Nuggets -8.5 (-110, FanDuel): Denver entered Sunday with eight straight wins and stood just a half-game behind the Lakers for the third seed. The Nuggets came up with a big overtime win over San Antonio Saturday afternoon. Portland has locked in a spot in the play-in tournament but are dealing with some injury issues. Shaedon Sharpe, Jerami Grant and Vit Krejci have all been missing of late for the Trail Blazers. Denver may be minus Peyton Watson and Zeke Nnaji here. Still, with Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic leading the way, at altitude, back the Nuggets here for a ninth straight win.

If the games on the slate aren’t overly appealing but you still want to get money down, we’ve got you covered with our top NBA props of the day for Monday as well.
Jalen Johnson, Hawks Under 22.5 Points (-136, FanDuel): Johnson has been effective this season and developed into the Hawks’ top option offensively. He has slowed a bit down the stretch and has fallen short of this number in five of his last eight games, including three straight. Facing the Knicks, who are fifth in scoring defense (110.4 ppg) and 25th in tempo this season, could slow his performance. Johnson is an efficient scorer but this number is a couple points too high. Take the under here.
Nikola Jokic, Nuggets Over 10.5 Assists (-136, FanDuel): Jokic leads the league in assists and comes in off a 13-dime showing against the Spurs Saturday. He has rung up at least a dozen assists in six of his last seven games. Jokic has handed out 12.7 assists a night in his last 10 games, with at least 12 in seven of those contests. Portland doesn’t have the size or the weapons to take Jokic out of his wheelhouse. Jokic puts up another big stat line to lead the Nuggets to a win at home.
Paul George, 76ers Over 17.5 Points (-114, FanDuel): George has been effective offensively since returning from his 25-game suspension for PED use. He has hit at least three three-pointers in each of the six games since he returned to action. George has scored at least 20 points in five of the six games and put up 19 in the other contest. Facing off with a San Antonio squad that can pile up points, you have to think that George will get his opportunities here. Look for him to go over the number in this contest.
