We may be down to the last NBA game of an entertaining 2022-23 season. Denver leads Miami 3-1 in the NBA Finals with a chance to close things in Game 5 out on Monday night. The game begins 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, and two NBA Finals players props stand out to me, so much so I’m going to same game parlay them together. Heat At Nuggets NBA Player Props
Big note ahead of Game 5: Heat guard Tyler Herro is expected to return to the lineup after missing pretty much the entire playoffs so far. I don’t expect him to see anything north of 25 minutes, but I’d rather not force a guess at which Miami players are going to see reduced playing time. As a result, I’m sticking with the reliable big men on both sides for my player prop selections. Bam Adebayo and Nikola Jokic have played their tails off so far and neither will be heavily impacted by Herro’s return.
Game Notes
Miami’s victory in Game 2 earned them some short-lived respect with oddsmakers for Games 3 and 4. After consecutive double-digit wins Denver is back to a favorite for Game 5, with the point total set at .

Boards Up For Grabs
It feels like forever ago that these two teams were dropping 120+ points per game in the NBA Playoffs. That’s what happens when things tighten up with the Finals on the line. Outside of some hot 3-point shooting from both squads in Game 2, this series has held true to that notion.
The last two games in particular have been filled with bricks. Miami is shooting 40% FG/30% 3P thanks to huge regression from key shooters like Gabe Vincent and Max Strus. Denver has been much better with 50% FG/41% 3P shooting splits, but I’m not sure you can bank on Aaron Gordon, Bruce Brown, and Jeff Green combining to go 7-10 from deep like they did in Game 4.
This Is What They Do
Jokic and Adebayo have been going over their respective rebound props with regularity of late. Over Jokic’s last eight games, he’s collected 12-or-more rebounds in five them. Bam has been just as good, grabbing at least 10 in five of his last six.
There’s been a clear shift in strategy for Denver’s defense since Game 2 and its led to some big rebounding numbers for Bam and The Joker. Over the first two games, Miami’s shooters were consistently left uncontested thanks to the Nuggets’ intense focus on Jimmy Butler. Strus and Vincent both averaged more than eight uncontested shots each. Since then, the attention to Butler has shifted to the Heat’s guards and neither shooter has been allowed more than four uncontested shots a night.
With Denver’s wings chasing Miami’s shooters off the 3-point line, Jokic is forced to stay home and defend the rim. These corollary movements create a favorable situation for either Jokic or Adebayo to grab any missed shots. They’re both battling down low while the Heat wings are slashing into the paint to take contested floaters and mid-range shots.
The results speak for themselves. Over the last two, Jokic is averaging 16.5 boards and Adebayo 14.
Best of luck betting Heat and Nuggets odds. If it’s the last game of the season, thank you for reading and watching Coast 2 Coast all year long. And congratulations to all the Denver fans!
