Spring training betting can feel overwhelming.

With more than 15 games on the slate today alone, the sheer volume makes it nearly impossible for the average bettor to properly evaluate every matchup. Projected rotations shift, lineups change inning by inning, and bullpen usage varies wildly from team to team. It's even more complex than the MLB 162-game regular season, which has much less lineup variability than spring training does.

That’s where preparation matters.

We’ve done the research, looking at projected arms, roster depth, camp competition battles, and organizational trends. As a result, we've narrowed the board down to five moneyline bets worth considering on today’s busy MLB spring training slate.

All Odds via bet365

Pittsburgh Pirates ML (+142) vs Boston Red Sox

In spring training, plus-money depth is valuable. Pittsburgh continues to operate with a roster full of young players fighting for defined roles, which often translates to aggressive at-bats and energized innings throughout the game.

Boston has more established veterans, but early in camp, those players often see limited reps. At +142, the Pirates present strong value in a game that should be closer than the line suggests. Both of these teams are 3-0 in spring training thus far, making it a fascinating matchup.

Minnesota Twins ML (-110) vs Tampa Bay Rays

This is essentially a pick’em price, and Minnesota brings strong roster balance into camp. The Twins’ pitching depth gives them an edge once starters cycle out, which is often where spring training games are decided.

Tampa Bay is always creative with usage, but Minnesota’s overall organizational stability makes them the more reliable side at -110. The Rays are also winless in spring training thus far.

Houston Astros ML (+114) vs New York Mets

Houston’s camp is filled with legitimate MLB-ready talent and competition for bullpen and bench spots. That matters in games where innings 4–8 decide outcomes.

The Mets have talent, but roster experimentation is still ongoing. Getting the Astros at +114 offers solid value in what profiles as a tight matchup.

Kansas City Royals ML (+112) vs Cincinnati Reds

Kansas City’s youth movement continues, and spring training provides an opportunity for that group to show out. Teams with players fighting for jobs often maintain intensity deeper into games.

Cincinnati has upside, but in a near coin-flip matchup, grabbing the plus money with the youth-loaded Royals is the sharper position. The Reds haven't won a game in spring training in two tries so far.

Texas Rangers ML (-164) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

This is the largest price on the board among our picks, but Texas carries a noticeable depth advantage. Even in abbreviated outings, the Rangers’ lineup strength tends to surface.

Arizona is competitive, but Texas’ roster talent and projected pitching usage justify the heavier number. If you’re laying chalk today, this is the spot to do it with a team that's looked great early on.

When you’re staring at 15+ games on a spring training slate, selectivity is everything. Not every matchup deserves your money, but a handful do.

These five stand out as the strongest moneyline positions on the board today. More daily MLB spring training best bets coming tomorrow.
