MLB spring training is officially underway, and while these games don’t count toward the regular season standings, there is still plenty of betting value on the board. The key this time of year isn’t overreacting to final scores, it’s understanding projected rotations, bullpen depth, roster competition, and which teams are giving meaningful innings to legitimate big-league talent.

Spring training volatility keeps lines tight across the board, which creates opportunity. Here are five of the best moneyline bets for Monday’s slate.

San Francisco Giants ML (-130) vs. Athletics

The Giants have shown early camp sharpness with a deeper mix of projected regulars and rotation arms seeing work. In these early spring games, the difference often comes down to which club is rolling out legitimate MLB bullpen pieces in the middle innings.

San Francisco’s pitching depth gives them an edge here. The Athletics are still in evaluation mode across much of their roster, and that tends to show once starters exit. At a modest -130 price, the Giants are one of the more stable sides on this slate.

Arizona Diamondbacks ML (+118) at Cleveland Guardians

Getting plus money in spring training is always attractive when the talent gap isn’t significant. Arizona enters camp with strong organizational depth, particularly on the offensive side, and that plays well in these split-squad style matchups.

Cleveland traditionally leans on pitching development, but early spring games can expose thinner lineups once starters cycle out. At +118, the Diamondbacks offer strong value given their roster balance and ability to manufacture runs as an underdog with great upside.

Texas Rangers ML (-110) at Los Angeles Angels

Texas brings more established talent into camp, and even in limited innings, that matters. The Rangers’ lineup depth tends to outperform in these early tune-ups, especially when younger Angels' arms are trying to find rhythm.

At essentially a pick’em price, backing the deeper roster makes sense. So -110 is a reasonable number in a game that should remain competitive throughout.

Colorado Rockies ML (+105) vs. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox remain in a transition phase, and spring training is largely about evaluation for them. Colorado, meanwhile, still has a number of players fighting for defined roles, which typically results in aggressive at-bats and cleaner innings from pitchers trying to lock in spots.

At +105, this is another plus-money position worth taking in a game projected to be close. Neither team is expected to be good this season, plus Monday is always more attractive in a toss-up.

Washington Nationals ML (-135) vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Washington has quietly shown strong early camp energy, particularly from young position players trying to solidify roster spots. Philadelphia’s veteran core will get reps, but early spring games often favor teams playing with more urgency.

The Nationals’ pitching mix gives them a slight edge in projected innings coverage. While -135 is one of the larger prices on this slate, it remains playable given the matchup dynamics.
