Sunday night football first Touchdown Odds

The odds below are the best available in your state.

vikings te t.j. hockenson: T.J. Hockenson +1500 on FanDuel

After Hockenson tore two ligaments in his right knee last season, he’s ready to make his 2024 debut. Although Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell mentioned he won’t be on a snap count, some gamesmanship could be involved.

Minnesota has targeted tight ends an average of 4.0 times per contest, the league’s second-lowest rate and less than half its rate in games Hockenson played from 2022-23. Some of this play-calling alteration involves a run-heavy approach with Aaron Jones while inheriting a positive game script during its 5-0 start.

However, the lack of involvement from the position is also simply because of Hockenson’s absence. I expect Sam Darnold to look his way early and often on Sunday night, considering the Colts allow the ninth-most targets per game to TEs.

When healthy, Hockenson is usually ahead of Jordan Addison in this market. We’re getting a slight discount for his first game back.

vikings defense: Minnesota Vikings +3700 on FanDuel

After going 7-1 ATS over the first eight weeks, the Colts represent an attractive underdog for some bettors. Couple that with the reinsertion of veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, and their skill-position threats seem like solid options for the odds to score the game’s first touchdown.

But I’d rather look for a longshot bet to throw some couch change on. With the Vikings looking to start a new winning streak, I anticipate their defense will have extra motivation. Even better, Brian Flores’ blitz-happy unit is up against an offensive line that ranks No. 26 in pass-block win rate.

This metric relays the rate at which linemen can sustain their blocks for 2.5 seconds or longer. With that in mind, Minnesota’s defensive front should apply plenty of pressure on Flacco. It may even result in a defensive score.

This is a hefty longshot bet, so only use pocket change if interested.

What Are first touchdown scorer Odds?

Like anytime touchdown odds, the first touchdown betting option has developed into one of the most popular player props across the sports betting industry.

Players are always stationed at plus-money odds. Given the exciting result for novice and hardcore pro football bettors, the hype with first TD odds isn’t surprising. Your wager will win if you bet on the first player to reach the end zone from a rushing, receiving, defensive, or special teams score. Passing touchdowns do not apply to first TD odds at NFL betting sites.

If the player is hurt during the game, don’t expect a refund on first touchdown odds. Just like any other bet, risk comes into play.
