NFL Week 9 Anytime Touchdown Picks

Raiders at Bengals: TE Brock Bowers Over 0.5 (+240) on FanDuel

This is expected to be one of the higher-scoring games of the week, and the Raiders should be throwing the rock plenty. They’re projected to be playing from behind as decent underdogs.

Last week, they actually showed some signs of life on offense — at least in the first half. During that time, they targeted Brock Bowers repeatedly, to fine results. When they stopped doing so in the second half, the offense ground to a halt.

Of course, the Chiefs electing to put top CB Trent McDuffie on Bowers for stretches of the game had an effect as well.

Thankfully for the Raiders, Cincinnati has no such sterling corners. In fact, the Bengals have allowed fantasy points to opposing tight ends at a top-10 rate.

The fly in the ointment could be whether the Raiders can finally run the ball. They’ve been extremely ineffectual in that department, but the Bengals have a horrid run defense (32nd in success rate allowed). It’s weakness on weakness here, as the Raiders have a historically awful ground game.

Hopefully, the game state will dictate an aerial attack that unlocks Bowers.

Dolphins at Bills: WR Tyreek Hill Over 0.5 (+155) on DraftKings

Last week, I headlined this piece with Hill, but he was the only one of the three players I tabbed who failed to find the end zone.

I’m getting back on the horse, though, because the odds have lengthened despite my obvious prediction that the Dolphins offense would look good again coming to fruition. They produced a solid 5.9 YPP and 27 points, only to lose anyway because the defense couldn’t muster a stop.

Hill unsurprisingly led the target share with nine, so I’m not really sure why his odds have gone from around +110 to as high as +160. Obviously, the Bills defense presents a greater challenge than that of the Cardinals. Still, Hill and the Dolphins have scored 20+ against the Bills in four of the past six meetings.

As long as Tua Tagovailoa stays upright, I’m happy to keep taking Hill at decent plus-money.

Patriots at Titans: RB Rhamondre Stevenson Over 0.5 (+155) on Caesars

Rhamondre Stevenson earned himself a mid-season benching thanks to coughing up the football (fumbled in each of his first four starts).

He seems to have worked his way back into the circle of trust, though. He received 23 opportunities (carries + targets) against just five for Antonio Gibson. The team also put the game in his hands, as he capped off the scoring with a winning 1-yard plunge with 22 seconds remaining.

This is an ugly game from which to pick touchdown scorers, and the Titans have a relatively stout run defense.

However, at pretty long odds for a clear featured back, I still like Stevenson. The Patriots focus on the run much more with Jacoby Brissett at QB, which is likely to be the case here after Drake Maye took a hard blow to the back of the head in Week 8.

What Are NFL Anytime Touchdown Picks?

If you are new to these wagers, they’re bets on a player to score a touchdown. Keep in mind that quarterbacks must run (or receive) for a touchdown to cash the prop — passing touchdowns do not apply to ATTD odds at NFL betting sites.

Thus, these are primarily the domain of offensive skill players, although you’ll find long odds for defensive and special teams players to score as well. Some NFL betting apps may lump “special teams/defense” into one bet.
