NFL Week 4 Anytime Touchdown Picks

Vikings at Packers: RB Aaron Jones

Stopping the run was a problem for the Packers last season, and they started out 2024 by immediately allowing 148 yards to the Eagles. They’re sitting 20th in rush defense DVOA, and given the roster they’ve put together which focuses on talent in the secondary and at EDGE, that’s a feature, not a bug.

Now, they’ll face old friend Aaron Jones. And not only should Jones find some rushing lanes, but with Jordan Addison out, he’s easily second on the team in targets. There’s been no indication that Addison is close to returning after spraining his ankle.

Furthermore, the Vikings coaching staff will surely be angling to get Jones into the end zone in this revenge spot.

I’m surprised Jones is available at plus money here, so I like the value at anything above even.

Eagles at Buccaneers: TE Dallas Goedert

The Eagles might be down their top two pass catchers this week. A.J. Brown is probably a coin flip to go, while Devonta Smith seems unlikely to play after taking a big hit against the Saints that has him in concussion protocol.

With the superstar WRs out, TE Dallas Goedert stepped up in a big way against the Saints. He thrashed New Orleans for an incredible 10 catches and 170 yards. Of the players we know are healthy going to Week 4, Saquon Barkley was next in targets with four.

Yet, Goedert’s ATTD prop does not really reflect a role at the top of the target hierarchy in a game with what passes for a high total these days.

The Bucs have a couple of solid players they can use to attack Goedert in LB Lavonte David and S Antoine Winfield Jr. However, David doesn’t have quite the range he once did, and Winfield Jr. appears to be still out injured.

Bonus selection: I think Mike Evans is also worth considering in this one. He’s had a quiet couple of weeks, but they are easily explained. The Detroit defense overwhelmed the Bucs OL, pretty much causing a complete shutdown of the offense. Then, he faced Patrick Surtain II. He should bounce back here as the Eagles have a poor pressure rate (27th) and beatable corners.

Saints at Falcons: WR Drake London

Bijan Robinson is soaking up a lot of the touchdown equity for the Falcons, and rightfully so given that he has been a usage monster through the first few weeks of the season.

However, the going might be a little tougher for the stud RB at this point. A Chiefs defense that has not gotten off to all that great of a start this season easily shut Robinson down, thanks in no small part to the loss of two starting offensive linemen. Both C Drew Dalman and T Kaleb McGary will miss this game.

Ryan Neuzil and Storm Norton are their respective backups, which is a very bad situation for Robinson and this rushing offense. Neuzil is an undrafted free agent with almost no starting experience. Norton has been mostly poor.

That should put more of the onus on the passing game to produce touchdowns. And Drake London has been the only reliable red-zone threat. His six targets there represent a whopping 35% share.

Around +150 looks like a good value threshold here, and London’s early pricing is north of that.

What Are NFL Anytime Touchdown Picks?

If you are new to these wagers, they’re bets on a player to score a touchdown. Keep in mind that quarterbacks must run (or receive) for a touchdown to cash the prop — passing touchdowns do not apply to ATTD odds at NFL betting sites.

Thus, these are primarily the domain of offensive skill players, although you’ll find long odds for defensive and special teams players to score as well. Some NFL betting apps may lump “special teams/defense” into one bet.
