NFL Week 14 Anytime Touchdown Picks
Bears at 49ers: RB Isaac Guerendo Over -120 on DraftKings
Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason are out of the way, leaving former third-stringer Isaac Guerendo as the presumed lead back in San Francisco.
Guerendo should have a pretty soft landing here against a Bears rush defense ranked 30th in DVOA.
And with Brock Purdy still less than 100% nursing an injured shoulder, the 49ers figure to lean on their elite rushing scheme.
The only question remains whether Guerendo handles the lion’s share of the work. I was initially interested in Patrick Taylor around +300 as a bit of a dark horse. However, Kyle Shanahan’s quotes suggest they will see what Guerendo can do. That makes sense in a spot where the 49ers’ season is slipping away.
If Guerendo leads the backfield, then close to even money seems pretty good here. Jordan Mason was around -200 eventually after he demonstrated he could handle McCaffrey’s job ably, and Guerendo will likely wind up in the same ballpark if he does likewise.
Jaguars at Titans: RB Tyjae Spears Over +400 on DraftKings
This one follows Taylor’s lead, though I have a better feeling about Spears’ potential involvement.
We have evidence that the Titans will get him a fair share of the carries. He was caddying for Tony Pollard early on before the team announced it wanted a more even split. That happened, though it proved short-lived as Spears got hurt again.
Spears returned last week but logged only one carry. Pollard dominated the snaps, but they could simply be working Spears back slowly. The Titans played from behind immediately, and this game is expected to play out much differently, with the Titans favored over the Mac Jones-led Jaguars.
There should be more carries, and if the team sticks to its guns, a decent chunk of those will go to Spears. At a massive number, I think it’s worth a small shot that Spears reclaims his timeshare and scores.
Jets at Dolphins: TE Jonnu Smith Over +180 on DraftKings
It’s hard to overstate the surprise I continue to harbor over Smith’s role in the Dolphins’ offense. On a team with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, he’s easily second in targets and tied for second in total TDs. He’s third in red-zone targets and squarely in the same tier as Hill and DeVon Achane.
Yet, those two are priced well above Smith in anytime touchdown odds.
In fairness to Smith, he has earned these targets. His Success Rate is by far the best on the team among high-volume options, and he has a healthy 8.8 yards per target. Targeting Smith is working, so the team has little reason to stop.
Smith’s three highest-target games of the season have been the past three. He’s scored three times in that span.
The market finally fixed Achane’s price after I had been hammering on it for the past couple of weeks, so I think the underrated TE now has the best value.

If you are new to these wagers, they bet on a player to score a touchdown. Remember that quarterbacks must run (or receive) for a touchdown to cash the prop — passing touchdowns do not apply to ATTD odds at NFL betting sites.
