Even though Dan Quinn’s defense has turned a corner since Week 4, the Commanders rank 24th in EPA per carry allowed and 25th in run-stop win rate during this stretch. Enter Barkley, who has scored three total touchdowns in his last six games.
Barkley’s anytime touchdown odds don’t present a buy-low opportunity, but he would have a higher price tag if he consistently found paydirt in recent games. His 63.5% implied probability of scoring has barely budged from Week 6 onward.
In a plus matchup, the Eagles’ star tailback should accumulate his fair share of opportunities inside the red zone. Jalen Hurts is a threat to steal carries in short-yardage situations, but Barkley is still worth betting on with some pizza money.

Not only has the Eagles’ defense improved of late, but it is also tied for the sixth-fewest targets surrendered to tight ends this season. However, it’s been more vulnerable in the last three matchups, allowing nine targets per game. In Ertz’s return to Philly, I expect Jayden Daniels to take advantage of the middle of the field, where Philadelphia’s linebackers (re: Nakobe Dean) have struggled in coverage.
Ertz’s lone touchdown in 2024 came with Marcus Mariota under center. While I would not put more than couch change on this wager, Daniels and Ertz are set up nicely to hook up for their first score.
