What Are NFL ATTD Odds?

Anytime touchdown odds (“ATTD” odds or “ATD” odds) refer to a player who crosses the goal line with the ball in their hand. For example, a rushing touchdown for Deshaun Watson would count toward the prop while a passing touchdown would not count for Watson. ATTD odds are enticing to bettors considering most players carry plus odds, sometimes lucratively so.

Potentially more exciting is the idea of cashing in on the first touchdown scorer, a prop that carries longer odds. The risk with first touchdown scorer odds is that it oftentimes comes down to the opening coin flip. To work around this, but to still keep favorable odds, bettors look to first team touchdown scorers to eliminate the risk of the coin toss going against your play.

Nick Chubb ()

The Browns offense runs through Nick Chubb. Even with a $230M quarterback, Kevin Stefanski wants to utilize his elite offensive line and even better running back to set the pace and gain chunk yardage. With Kareem Hunt no longer in town, Chubb owns the backfield. Watson stole the lone rushing touchdown in Week 1 and books posted Chubb with plus odds to find pay dirt in this game (or an implied breakeven rate under 50%).

While many ATD prop considerations for backs factor red zone touches, Chubb is a threat from any yard line. Nobody had more rushes of 10+ yards last season (47!) and only five had more yards after contact per rush (3.48). Pittsburgh also allowed 152 yards to Christian McCaffrey in Week 1 on 22 carries.

Do note, starting tackle Jack Conklin is out for the season for Cleveland. In his place rises rookie Dawand Jones, a preseason standout, who stands 6-foot-8 and 375 pounds. Big as he is, Jones moves exceptionally well for his size.
