When will AJ Brown be back and return to Titans?

Update: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Titans “are activating AJ Brown to play today vs. the 49ers.”

Many fantasy football owners are wondering when will AJ Brown be back and return to the field for the Titans. Fortunately, it seems that people who have Brown on their team will not have to wait much longer. Brown is likely to be back and return to the Titans in either Week 16 against the 49ers or Week 17 against the Dolphins.

Tennessee placed Brown on IR on Nov. 27, meaning he would have to miss at least three games.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported in late November on how long will AJ Brown be out. Fowler tweeted that the Titans expect Brown to return “sometime in December” and that the injury is not a “long-term issue.” Titans WR coach Rob Moore told SI.com’s John Glennon on Dec. 14 that Brown has “been working hard and seems in a really good place. So far, so good.”

Based on Fowler and Glennon’s reporting, here are Titans games with a date attached as to when Brown could return.

  • Week 16: Thursday, Dec. 23 vs. 49ers
  • Week 17: Sunday, Jan. 2 vs. Miami

A return against the 49ers is most likely. It is unlikely that we will have to wait until Week 17 to see Brown again.

Brown injured his chest, ribs and hand in a loss to the Texans in late November. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Brown had negative X-Rays on his ribs.

AJ Brown props

Brown’s season long over under for receiving yards was 1175.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook in August. His receiving TD prop was 8.5 touchdowns.

It is unlikely that Brown goes over either of those totals. The star WR currently has 46 catches for 615 yards and 3 TDs on the season.

Titans futures

The Titans look like a lock to make the playoffs despite a relatively tough stretch of games coming up. Tennessee will see the 49ers and Dolphins over the next two weeks but get a layup in Week 18 when they visit the Texans. Mike Vrabel’s crew is to win the Super Bowl and is to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
