ACC Basketball Tournament Odds: Duke Favored Over The Field

Written By Mo Nuwwarah on March 6, 2022 - Last Updated on March 7, 2022
ACC basketball tournament odds

The ACC tournament is usually one of the most anticipated in the country, featuring a number of top-ranked contenders. That looks less true this year than usual in a down year for the conference, but the ACC basketball tournament odds create an interesting opportunity because of the distribution of prices.

As expected, the market likes Coach K and the Blue Devils to win his final go-round in the ACC tournament. But exactly where does it peg the team’s chances? Can a dark horse come from out of nowhere and grab an NCAA tournament berth?

The market says you can basically flip a coin between Duke and the rest of the field. Considering Duke is the only team ranked inside the AP Top 25 and also the only ACC team making KenPom’s top 25, that makes sense. They certainly have plenty of talent with as many as five potential first-round picks on the team.

After the top-seeded Blue Devils, things get really flat with six teams in the long-but-realistic odds range. Note that of this group, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Miami have a seeding edge and play one less game than Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Virginia.

Depth will be at a premium in this format with games taking place on five consecutive days. Slower teams like Virginia and Virginia Tech may also benefit from saving a little energy.

ACC Basketball Tournament Schedule

  • First round: March 8

  • Quarterfinals: March 10

How To Watch

Turn on ESPN and/or ESPN2. That’s pretty much the story for the television schedule of the ACC basketball tournament, after the first round anyway. That part of the tournament can be found on the ACC Network. After that, check your local listings to see whether the main network or the deuce will air the game. The title game, naturally, gets a prime time spot on ESPN.
