One of the last NCAA basketball conference tournaments to start does so March 10 when the American Athletic Conference holds its opening round. We’ll go over all the pertinent info from the AAC tournament, including odds and a look at the full bracket.

Unsurprisingly, national title hopeful Houston leads the board by a pretty wide margin.

On the surface, Houston looks like the clear cut top team in the conference. They won the regular season title, are nationally ranked, and check in at an extremely lofty fifth overall in KenPom’s efficiency rankings. Both FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook reflect this reality with the Cougars — a Final Four participant last season — favored over the field.

Houston might even enjoy a bit of home court advantage for certain matchups playing in Fort Worth, just a four-hour drive away.

However, don’t overlook Memphis. The Tigers, a preseason darling for some due to their high-caliber recruiting class, had an ugly season until the final stretch. They seemed to come together quite nicely, winning 10 of their final 11. That included two wins over Houston by a combined 24 points.

Memphis is the only other AAC team in KenPom’s top 50, ranking 28th. There’s another big gap both ways around the next team, SMU at 57th, so this looks like a pretty top-heavy conference. Most of the rest of the teams have pretty similar pricing between DK and FD, although FD is a bit higher on Temple’s chances.
