Beckham trade Super Bowl odds

The Browns as Super Bowl contenders? Apparently, thanks to a big trade.

OBJ + Cleveland Browns = contenders

After the New York Giants traded star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns now find themselves among the top five 2020 Super Bowl betting favorites.

The Browns have been on a drunken offseason bender, adding talent all over the field. Along with OBJ, they’ve loaded the roster with free agents such as Sheldon RichardsonDemetrius Harris, Kareem Hunt (although, Hunt is starting the season on an eight-game suspension) and Olivier Vernon.

Their offense will be particularly dynamic, with Baker Mayfield having weapons like Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Harris, David Njoku, Nick Chubb and Hunt.

The excitement around the Browns, yes Ohio’s Cleveland Browns, is being reflected at sportsbooks.

2020 Super Bowl odds: Browns are now 14-1

Since the trade, the Browns have moved from 25-1 to 14-1 to win the Super Bowl. That makes them the fifth favorite overall behind only Kansas City (+700), New England (+700), New Orleans (+850) and the Rams (+900) at a lot of books:

Cleveland’s AFC odds obviously improved, too. The team on the other end of the trade, the New York Giants — not so much. The G-men are not at the bottom of the heap, but they are near the bottom among longest odds to win.
