Lakers vs Nets preview

It’s fair to say that this has been a season to forget for the Brooklyn Nets. Their postseason hopes ended a long time ago, and they are currently over 20 games adrift at the bottom of the Atlantic Division. When you also throw in a dismal performance in the NBA Cup, it is clear to see why most Nets fans cannot wait for the season to end.

In stark contrast to Brooklyn’s awful campaign, the Lakers are flying high at the top of the Pacific Division and have already secured a postseason berth. The highlight of the Lakers' season so far has been a memorable run of nine wins in 10 games in January, a sequence that included a comprehensive 125-109 success over the Nets. If the Lakers can produce something close to their best form on Friday evening, then they should have more than enough quality to replicate that result and move a step closer to securing the Pacific Division title.
