Hurricanes Seek First Cup Since 2006

Golden Knights Look to Force Game 7

In Game 5, Vegas took the lead early but couldn’t maintain their momentum as they dropped a pivotal contest. In the second period, Vegas lost the shot battle 10-5 and on the scoreboard by a 2-0 margin to trail 3-1 at the second intermission.
The third period saw the Golden Knights with a 13-9 shot edge with both teams scoring once. That left them on the short end of the scoreboard as time expired. After giving up a goal to trail 4-1, Dorofeyev scored his second of the night and 12th of the playoffs at 13:49 to make it 4-2. Shea Theodore and Eichel drew the assists on the marker. Carter Hart made 20 saves for the Golden Knights, who owned a 25-24 advantage in shots, in the loss. Hart (14-7, 2.57 GAA, .907 save percentage) is slated to get the start in goal again here.
